What's new with us?

It's been awhile since I've updated on here but we've been really busy it seems. Ethan had his surgery on Friday the 25th and it went well. It was a 3 hour surgery and there is more to be done but it was too risky to do it all in one shot. Six months from now he will have to have another surgery which isn't exactly ideal but it should be the last and it's a relief just knowing that! We were aware before the first surgery that there was a chance there may be a second surgery needed so we were prepared for that. We had a great experience with and the doctors and nurses at Children's Hospital here in Columbus. They took good care of us and especially our little boy.

Ethan is recovering very well. It is so amazing how a little baby can handle something like that with no signs of pain. He seemed a little more cautious the first couple days that we were home after the surgery but was still smiling and laughing the day of the surgery. Now he is back to being the old Ethan we know and love. Kicking, screaming, giggling, smiling and making all the funny noises he makes! We are just so thankful.

The boys are both sitting up really well now and Cohen especially loves sitting up and playing. He's getting pretty good at reaching for things out of his reach and I am just waiting for the day that he reaches out far enough and ends up on his hands and knees. Both the boys love touching our faces. Whenever you hold them they reach and hold our heads with both hands and it is SO cute. The are always grabbing our noses and mouths too. Once in awhile we get a poke in the eye!!

When Ethan was weighed at the hospital he weighed just over 19lbs so we are assuming that Cohen is over 20 lbs as he is usually a pound or two heavier than Ethan. They are both 27 inches long.

Josh and I are both doing well. We will be going on vacation to the beach on the 17th of June and are really looking forward to it. We are going with our neighbors Cy and Sarah and their little girl Isabella. Josh will start his part time job next week. He will work 3 evenings so we are both going to have long days! He will be working at Ross during the day from 7:30am -4pm and then go to his other job from 4:30pm - 9pm or so and I will be with the boys all day. We will miss him those days for sure. I'm sure we will both be very drained those three days but we'll be OK! So basically we've just been preparing for Ethan's surgery (which we are thankful the first stage is behind us), cooking out with the neighbors and doing things with the boys. All is well!!

They really are sitting up well now. My friend's baby just started sitting up too. He is so proud of himself, sitting there looking around at everyone - lol! I'm glad to hear that Ethan has recovered well. I know all too well about hubbies working double time. Frank has almost always worked 2 to 3 jobs at a time even before we had kids. First to buy a house, then so I could stay home with the boys. You just find a way to do it. It can be exhausting though. Email me anytime :-)
