Added some stickers...

Last night we went and bought some stickers to decorate Cohen's helmet until Holly is here and paints it. We found some safari animals (Lion, Giraffe and Elephant), we got a Canadian flag and an American flag since I am Canadian and Josh is American and the boys are Canamericans!! We put a hockey stick and some stars and Cohen's name across the front. It makes it a little more fun looking!

Today Cohen wears the helmet for 4 hours and then can take it off for 1 hour and then back to 4 hours and has to wear it during naps and tonight will be the first full night he wears it. He's doing really well. He's on his second nap while wearing the helmet or band (whatever you want to call it) and both times he slept very well.

Here's some pictures:

Cohen's Helmet

On Friday we got Cohen's helmet. He seems to be tolerating it just fine. The first couple of days he had to wear it for 1 hour and then have it off for an hour alternating throughout the day. He was not supposed to wear it for naps or for sleeping at night. Today he has to alternate at 2 hour intervals and still not wear it for naps or at bedtime. I believe by day 6 he will be wearing it all day and night. I am still feeling badly about it and I pray that it does what it's supposed to do. His head was/is pretty flat on the back/side and I know it would take forever and possibly never go back to shape and we just didn't want to give kids any ammo to tease him when he gets older or for him to resent us for not doing anything about it. It was a tough decision to make but now we've made it and if we just stick to it for the next 3 or so months he'll never have to wear it again. Sometimes the decisions in life we have to make as parents are hard ones but they are most always to help our children...not to hinder them. So, it is out of love for our little boy that we did this. We love you Cohen and you are going to have the roundest, cutest head around when you are finished with this!!! XOXOXO

Good morning little ones!! Cuddling in the morning after waking up. These pictures were taken on Friday morning before Cohen got his helmet.
Just as I clicked the camera Cohen grabbed Ethan's pants and pulled at them!! I thought it was a funny picture!!
You can't see me!!

It looks as if Ethan is telling Cohen that "It'll be OK brother"!!

Inniswood Metro Gardens

This past weekend Josh and I and the boys went to Inniswood Metro Gardens. It's a beautiful park that has SO many pretty flowers of all different species as well as huge herb gardens. It is so beautifully kept and it's just a really nice place to go for a walk. The boys loved seeing all the flowers and there was also a special guest there - David Rogers who is an artist who builds these HUGE bugs. I think we may have missed a few of the bugs but I added the pictures we took of the ones we saw as well as some pictures of the beautiful flowers there.

Beautiful butterfly made of moss and flowers.

Frog in the water. They have ponds with all kinds of creatures in them! They also have many trails throughout the park that go through the woods. It's such a fun place to go for a walk!

9 Month Check Up

Today the boys had their 9 month check up at their pediatrician's office. They are both very healthy boys and doing well. No major concerns or anything. They only had to get one shot today but you could've sworn the nurse poked them 10 times the way they cried today...the poor little things. They did have to get their fingers pricked for a small blood test to check for anemia which they were sad about too. Both boys were good in that department too.

So here are their stats...

Cohen -
Weight: 21lbs 4oz (65th percentile)
Height: 27 1/2 inches (25th percentile) - last time only in the 10th percentile so he's growing!!
Head Circumference: 18 3/4 inches (95th percentile) - yes, our big noggined little man!!

Ethan -
Weight: 20lbs 6oz (50th percentile)
Height: 27 1/2 inches (25th percentile) - he also was in only the 10th percentile 3 months ago
Head Circumference: 18 1/4 inches (65th percentile)

Good job boys!! Cohen gets his helmet on the 20th so we are looking forward to getting that treatment started. The sooner we get it on the sooner his head will reshape into a more round noggin!! Ethan goes to see the Ophthalmologist at the end of the month since his tear ducts have been plugged since birth. A lot of times they remedy themselves but his are being stubborn so the doctor is going to take a look and see if he can't fix that!

Ethan is getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth everyday now so it's just a matter of time before he starts crawling. Cohen just recently started rolling from back to belly. He has been rolling from belly to back for a long time now but just couldn't quite get the momentum to go back the other way. I don't think he will be too far behind on the crawling aspect. Or, maybe he'll go straight to walking...who knows?

Anyways, here are some pictures of the boys today at the doctor's office and in the car and then just some random pictures that were taken within the last few days.

Waiting to see Dr. Davies

Cohen observing all the "goings on" outside on the way home.

Ethan napping in his crib this morning. I love the way he sleeps with his little bum in the air!!

Both boys sound asleep in their new car seats. It's tough now that they aren't in their infant carriers. I can't just pick them up in their car seats anymore while they stay sleeping. Same goes for just being able to snap them into the double stroller (which was SUPER easy) ...especially when I was by myself. Gone are those days of "easy"!! I guess it's just one more sign that these boys are growing up...fast!

GO ETHAN!!
YAY COHEN!!

Good form!
