March 23rd weekend

We all had a really good weekend this past weekend. Friday night we decided to just stay in and rent a movie so it was nice and relaxing. Saturday afternoon we had to get some things from Sam's club so we loaded up the boys and took them out. After running our errands we decided to go for lunch. The boys were so good the entire time we were at the restaurant. Just taking in all the people and lights. That evening we had our friends Brian and Michelle over for dinner which was great. Michelle is due mid April with their first baby so they were just taking it all in!! It was great just having friends over and being able to socialize. Sunday we all kind of lazed around for part of the day and then we decided we were going to go for another little hike with the boys since they like it so much. We walked for a good hour and the boys just mostly slept. It was SUPER warm outside (about 80 degrees) so Josh and I were pretty hot carrying around these heavy little boys in their carriers. Later that evening our friends Jamie and Jason came over for a visit and to see the boys and then we watched a movie. So all in all we had a great weekend.

A couple other not so great things happened this weekend too. Our friends little girl Isabella had been projectile vomiting and losing weight so she went into Children's Hospital and she ended up having to have surgery on Saturday due to Pyloric Stenosis. She is doing better now and has already gained weight. I was able to go in and see her yesterday for a bit. It's amazing how they can do these surgeries on such itty bitty little babies. We were sure worried for her but know that she is going to be better now.

Also, my friend Kristie wasn't due to have her baby for another 8 weeks suddenly went into labor on Saturday morning and had her baby. He is doing OK though. He weighed an amazing 5lbs 14oz. They believe they are going to name him Jaxson. We can't wait to see him!! He had to have a breathing tube in for transportation between hospitals but will be breathing on his own today. Mommy is doing well too which is great.

So a pretty eventful weekend I would have to say! I have added some pictures of the boys too from yesterday in their shorts. It's so great to be able to wear more summer-ish clothes!!

We had a busy day...

Today has been a very busy day for us! It's Josh's birthday so first I have to say Happy Birthday Hunney...I love you SO much!! And Happy Birthday Daddy!! We love you SO much too!! So Josh got to go out with some of his guy friends last night to sort of celebrate so he had fun doing that. I stayed home with the boys so daddy could have some fun. It's tough getting out together these days but we are going to start looking for a baby sitter that we feel comfortable with and feel like we can trust so we can go out here and there. Anyways, today we got up and went for breakfast with Bryan and Court and then came home and we all took naps which was great. Then we woke up and got the boys all ready and took them for their first nature walk. They LOVED it. We used our baby carriers for the first time and they were so happy in them and just looked around at everything. Ethan even fell asleep for a bit. We are just so happy that the weather is getting warmer now so we can do this every weekend. There were two other sets of twins there as well so that was kind of neat. Now we just finished eating and our neighbors Cy, Sarah and their little baby girl Isabella are going to come over for ice cream cake. It's been such a good day and we just love these little boys so so much. Below are a few pictures from this weekend...

We have a roller...

Friday evening Josh and I had just finished feeding the boys and Josh put Ethan on the floor to do some tummy time. He was only down there a minute and all of a sudden he just rolled over as if he was an old pro at it!! Ethan laid there a minute to process what had just happened and then Josh picked him up and put him back on his tummy and he rolled over again! We tried a third time and he got tired of it and wouldn't do it again. We tried again today but he would just get to the point where he looked like he was going to go over but then would roll back to the belly position. Then he would get up on his tip toes with his forearms supporting him. So very funny to watch. Anyways, that was our exciting moment. I'm sure Cohen won't be far behind now. Ethan is a little smaller so that may have something to do with it. We are also pretty sure that Ethan is teething. All the signs point to it but it hasn't made him cranky at all so we'll keep our fingers crossed that they don't get grumpy. :)

Today we had a few visitors. Our friends Brian and Court were here from Pittsburgh and then our other friend Brian came to keep Josh company while I was at their house for his wife (also a friend of mine) Michelle's baby shower. They are expecting their first child in April! We are very excited for them and Michelle looks great.

On Thursday the boys had some friends come over to "play". My friend Yvonne who has boy/girl twins (Amaya & Avery) who are 1 month older than our boys came over for awhile. They aren't exactly at the stage yet where they can play with each other but it won't be long. It's so nice to be friends with another twin mommy who has babies about the same age as mine.

That evening we went next door to visit with Cy and Sarah and their baby girl Isabella and made them fajitas for dinner. It's so exciting that I have a friend next door that now has a baby too so we can go for walks and go to the park with our little ones. And we are having GREAT weather (finally!) so I can't wait to get outside more with the boys. This summer is going to be SO much fun.

A little bit about what the boys are doing...

Cohen and Ethan are getting so much stronger. When you hold their hands they pull themselves up into a standing or sitting position. They can sit up very easily now with less and less support now. Cohen was sitting on his own for a few seconds the other day and that was really exciting. They still have not rolled over but our pediatrician reassured us that because they were 6 weeks early they may be a little behind and figured they would roll by 6 months (they will be 5 months this Wednesday). They are babbling so much and laughing a lot. Cohen gets giggling so much that it makes us laugh so hard and then he laughs harder!! It's a blast. Ethan is very vocal and will just lay in his crib in the morning and talk away while Cohen sleeps so soundly beside him! It's funny. It still amazes us that they can sleep through each others cries and babbling. We will be starting them on rice cereal next week and are looking forward to seeing their faces at the first taste of something different than formula. It's been a great adventure so far...
