The Pittsburgh Weekend

On Saturday we had a wedding to go to in Pittsburgh, PA. Another little road trip with the boys and they were really good in the car. Josh's mom's best friend Marti and our friend Bryan's dad (Lou) offered to look after the boys during the wedding. Of course we took them up on it!! Unfortunately Cohen decided that day he was going to start playing strange with people and cried very hard for about an hour while we were gone. Luckily Marti had met the boys before and she knew that Cohen is not normally like that so she understood! We did however feel sorry for Lou who had never met the boys before and probably thought we were in for trouble with our little Cohen!! Even our friend Bryan who Cohen has met before and was fine with cried when Bryan tried to talk to him. We do think it was a combination of him being over tired, in a strange place without mom and dad and possibly sore gums because today he was a new baby and back to being the old Cohen...smiling and not afraid of anyone! Ethan was his normal goofy self, smiling, giggling and blowing lot's of raspberries!! We took them to the reception and for the most part Cohen was good. He was still a little off but all the ladies were holding him and he liked the attention. At one point our friend April (who Ethan took a liking to) was holding Ethan and I looked and Josh didn't have Cohen and I didn't have him and the carrier was empty and mommy's heart started to skip a couple beats...I scanned the room and one of the soon-to-be grandma's had him across the room and he was content as can be in her arms. Josh knew where he was because he was in charge of Cohen and I was in charge of Ethan!

Today was a beautiful sunny day which was a nice change from the rain we've been having. We took the boys out visiting for most of the day and fed them each bottle outside in the sunshine which they loved. Our first stop was at the Ritchie's. These were Josh's grandparents good friends and neighbors for years so Josh grew up knowing them and they were so happy to meet the boys. Mrs. Ritchie makes wonderful homemade ravioli and insisted we have lunch there so we didn't pass that up! Our next stop was at the Brady's. The Brady's were long time friends of Josh's grandparents as well and also shared ownership of a pharmacy. Mary Ellen was another friend and Neighbor of Pat and Guy's so we visited all of them today and they met the boys for the first time as well and the boys loved all the attention of course and were very good. So we ended up making it home around 7pm tonight and had a really good weekend.

We have an appointment tomorrow (Monday the 30th) with the Pediatric Neurosurgeon so he can take a look at Cohen's head and let us know if he would recommend a DOC Band for his little noggin. Cohen has a severe flat spot on the back and side of his head which has made his head a bit uneven and the DOC Band would straighten that out. We just don't know if he would be a candidate for it yet so we'll see! I've added some pictures below of the people we visited and some of just the boys and the wedding...

Isn't it funny how your pulse races something fierce when you don't know where your baby is? At Sam's christening, where everyone was family, I lost sight of him for a second when he was supposed to be with dad, and I thought I might throw up!

Who got married, by the way? Anyone we might know?

That's a lovely picture of you and the boys, even if it was taken at a rest stop!
