I'm sure everyone has received their Christmas cards by now so I thought I could post this here! This was our 2008 Christmas card photo :)

Baking sugar cookies :) Cohen loved rolling the dough and Ethan just loved to poke the dough :)

The boys have decided that they have to be resourceful in order to do what they want so they carry their little chairs with them to turn on lights or get something off the counter. It's cute and funny and also a little annoying at times because they get into stuff that they shouldn't be getting in to! Below is Ethan turning on the light. Are our light switches abnormally high on the wall??

Trick or treating was a lot of fun with the boys this year! They were excited to go to each house. They honestly didn't care about the candy but just thought it was fun that they would hold their bags out and people would put stuff in them. It was cute. After we went over to our neighbors house. They had a fire and some food and drinks. It was fun and the boys behaved VERY well. Here are some pictures...

I LOVE this time of year! It is so beautiful outside. The only downside (a least here in Columbus) is not knowing what to wear. It's So cold in the mornings and evenings but then during the day it hot. Oh well. I'll take it any day over that dreaded "W" word!!

Anyways, the boys just turned two on October 7th. Wow...already two. As a parent you never can quit believe that your children are growing at a rapid pace right in front of your eyes. But then...there are those days...like the last two days here that seem like they are never going to grow up and that your days will forever be filled with "no", "don't touch that", "stop screaming", eat your food", "no", "no", "no"...you feel like a broken record. It's so much fun seeing them growing and learning though. Cohen and Ethan are becoming very independent little people. Just try and pick them up to put them in their car seat...I dare you! Yes, they want to be SO independent. It's good but so hard sometimes when mommy and daddy can do it in a nano second and it takes them 10 minutes.

We love them very much and we had lots of fun when we celebrated their birthday with friends and family this past Saturday. Uncle Trace, Aunt Jill & Gabby were here...as well as Uncle Allen and cousin Andrew (Mandi wasn't able to make it but we missed her), Janelle and her son Andy (Pete was home sick with bronchitis...we missed him too), Brian, Michelle and Asche...Court & Marti (who were a HUGE help with getting ready for the party and Brian wasn't able to make it due to work commitments and we missed him too)...and then our neighbors Jeff and Amy came by as well. It was a great turn out! We honestly did not get a lot of pictures though. All the kids played outside most of the time until it was cake and present time since the weather was gorgeous.

Yesterday was actually a little chilly outside. You could feel the Fall crispness in the air. I love it! I took the boys for a wagon ride around the neighborhood and then brought their trikes out. We bought them quite awhile ago and back then they couldn't maneuver them very well so I was happy when they could ride them so well yesterday. :) Our neighbors came over with their little boy as well and all three rode their trikes. It was pretty cute. I am made that I didn't get all three in a picture though. Oh well. I know there will be many more chances. Here are some pictures and a short video...(the same video is posted twice and when I go to edit it only shows one so I can't figure out how to remove it)

This weekend we drove out to Philadelphia for Josh's best friend Rodger's wedding. Although I did not go to the actual wedding, I heard (from Josh) that it was a beautiful ceremony. We did however all (including the boys) go to the rehearsal dinner and the reception with were both nice too and the food was yummy! The boys did pretty well at the rehearsal dinner but by the next day were not willing to sit and behave well enough for us to all stay at the rehearsal together. Those darn two year olds...don't they know how to sit still yet?? LOL!! Cohen and Ethan both came down with colds on Friday so they were not feeling well either. Oh well. Another adventure in traveling with twins in tow! I didn't get many pictures at all of this part of the trip but here are a few. Grace looked so beautiful :)

On our way over to Philly on Friday afternoon we got to stop and meet another lady who is part of the online twins group I am a part of. She has b/g twins who are 4 months older than the boys. Last Sunday we went to the Zoo with our friends Cy & Sarah and their kids Isabella and Aidan. All the kids had such a good time and of all the times that we've gone to the Zoo this is the first time the boys have seemed truly interested in the animals that were there so that was a lot of fun! They also got to ride the choo choo train and ride the carousel for the first time. Both were a bit hit. Cohen actually cried at first when I tried to put him on one of the horses on the carousel but once he got on he didn't want to get off. I literally had to carry him off of there kicking and screaming and throwing a huge tantrum. Did I mention how much I LOVE tantrums?? Ya, they're pretty awesome..............

Our vacation to Canada and some other random photos!

At the beginning of August we flew over to visit my family and friends up in Canada. The flights on the way there were OK. We flew from Columbus to Milwaukee and that flight was about an hour. Then we had a 3 hour lay over in Milwaukee. Our next flight was direct to Seattle but was about 4 hour sin length. The boys did pretty well but were not impressed by the third hour so we were scrambling to keep them entertained which is not easy on a plane where there is no where to go. We then drove from Seattle to the Vancouver area and stayed at my friend Sherri and her husband Mike and their daughter Mikayla's house! We had a really good time there and Sherri and I got to go out and have some fun too! From there we drove to my dad's and stayed there for 2 nights and had a really good time. I also got to catch up with my friend Joy one night too :) Then we drove over to my sister's house and stayed there for the remainder of the time. My mom also came and stayed for the majority of the time we were there. We got to also see my grandparents and aunt's and uncle's, we met up with my friends Kristie H., Kristy S., and Joy at a park and let all our kids run around for awhile (which they did happily of course so there wasn't a whole lot of visiting that went on there! Josh and I went up to the local Ski resort there and rode up one of the chair lifts and it was such an amazing view! We are such wimps though. Neither of us are all that fond of heights. It was fun though. Then my step sister got married while we were there so we attended the wedding and it was very nice. All in all it was a good trip. The boys were slightly (to say the least) grumpy for some of the days with all the traveling and busyness of our schedule. It was also SUPER hot there the whole time we were there! The way home on the plane is one that I chose to try and forget. Let's just say it was NOT FUN AT ALL!! :) Oh well. Below are some pictures from the trip! They are no specific order.

When we got home last night from vacation the boys were running around and Ethan tripped over his own two feet and fell eye first into a folded up pack & play. His eye was so red & bloodshot that we took him to an Urgent Care to have him looked over. He is fine but now we call him Braveheart!! (looks like he has the painted face)

It probably seems as if I take pictures of EVERYTHING....well I do!! :) I try to take my camera with us wherever we go just in case we catch a "Kodak" moment! Kids are unpredictable! Here's a few from this past weekend. We went to a park that also had trails through the forest and then we went out for lunch with the boys which is always an adventure!

Another trip to the Zoo!!

This past Sunday we went to the Zoo with our friends Pete & Janelle and their little boy Andy who is a little over a month older than the boys. We had a lot of fun. We went to the Zoo with our Mom's/Kids Group. It was fun. I ended having to oush the boys non-stop because they wanted out of their stroller SO bad but I couldn't let them run when I was without Josh. I felt bad but I needed to keep them where I could see them. Next time we'll take them in their wagon. I think they will be much happier. We were there for about 2 hours though and it was a beautiful day :)

THE NEW TRIKES...
We bought the boys some Radio Flyer trikes from a girl in my local twins group. The boys really like them although they don't know how to peddle them yet they certainly know how to push themselves along with their feet. And they did NOT want mommy and daddy's help at all :( Here's a few pictures:

This is Cohen laying in the clean laundry. I had folded all the laundry and put it back in the basket to carry upstairs but Cohen apparently thought it would be nice to pull some clothes out and lay on them. You can't really see it but he's got a cute grin on his face :)

Yesterday the boys and I drove out to Heath, OH to meet my friend Emily and her twin girls Beth & Jackie. We met a couple months back too but since then this is the first time we've been able to get together again. It was a beautiful day and we played outside for the most part. Here's a few pictures:

Easter 2008

Well, it ended being a really productive weekend for us. We got our basement painted which we have been wanting to do for a LONG time. It looks so much better. Now I can't wait to tear out the old carpet and lay some new laminate down there and put some new baseboards and trim up. It already looks like a completely different room.

On Sunday we had a little Easter egg hunt for the boys outside. I snuck outside and just placed some big plastic eggs around in the grass and then we opened the curtains to the back yard and the boys got so excited to see the eggs! I'm sure they had no idea what was going on but they were excited nonetheless. It was sunny but still pretty chilly out there. The boys had fun just running around with no boundaries. It was hard when the time came to go back inside. They were NOT pleased with mommy and daddy :)
So once we came inside we gave the boys their Easter baskets. We didn't put much in them. Just a couple match box cars each and a book for each of them. We also got them a box of crayons and a battery operated bubble blower. They can't use that themselves yet but they had fun going after the bubbles outside. No, we didn't give them any chocolate. We have a hard enough time trying to get them to eat anything these days and didn't figure they needed that at the moment. But we are not mean parents...they do get sweets sometimes. Also, Josh and I probably would have ended up eating most of it anyways and we didn't feel we needed that.

Later on I cooked some dinner. Made an Italian Meatloaf (a new recipe) and it was really yummy. It had carrots and celery and onion all ground up with the turkey meat and bread crumbs.

About a week ago I found the boys "trying" on my shoes!! It was so cute. It seems that every child at some point does this but the first time it happens to yours it's SO adorable! They just kept slipping their feet into the shoes and trying to walk. Here's a few pictures...

And Ethan doing the same. I love being able to see them sleep and looking so peaceful. Once they are toddlers you don't get to see them asleep much anymore. Usually as soon as I open the door to their bedroom they awake but not this time :) I even turned on the lights so I could actually see them and they slept right through it!

So today is March 8th and we are having basically a BLIZZARD! It was a fun day though. We took advantage of it and took the boys out for a little fun! They enjoyed it.

Last night we gave the boys some crackers with Sunbutter on them. Sunbutter is made from sunflower seeds so there's no peanuts in it at all but it looks and tastes pretty close to peanut butter. We've decided that we won't give the boys peanut butter until they are about 18 months as per our pediatrician's advice. Kids are a lot less likely to develop a peanut allergy the longer you wait. Neither Josh or I or anyone (that we know of in our families) have peanut allergies so they should be fine. Anyways...here's a couple pictures of them after eating it. It was EVERYWHERE and they went straight up to the bath after....

We finally took Ethan in for his first haircut. He did pretty well. He cried at first a little but as long as I stood there and held his hand he was OK :) He didn't get too much cut off, just kinda needed to be touched up! Below are a few pictures.

Today the boys and I ventured out to meet another mommy of twins. We are in the same online group for moms of twins and decided that since we are the only one's in the group that live in OH and not that far from one another that we should meet up. So we did! We just strolled around Polaris mall and ate lunch at the food court. All the kids were good and it was nice visiting with someone else who has twins. Emily also has an almost 4 year old daughter as well who is such a sweet heart. Anyways, here's a few pictures. We didn't get very many and the one with Emily and I was supposed to be of the 7 of us but he only got us in the picture. Oh well. It was fun!

So I have been meaning to post these pics for SO long now. I feel horrible. These were pics taken from when Josh's dad (Eric), girlfriend Brenda, her two girls Malyse (I'm sorry I don't know if that is the correct spelling), Devin and Josh's youngest sister Jenna came up just after Christmas. We had a great visit and it was so nice to finally meet Brenda and her daughters. The boys LOVED the girls and all the attention! They DROVE here from Florida so that was a feet unto itself. I think Eric was in his glory being around the boys...and I'm pretty positive the feeling was mutual for them. They just loved climbing on him and gave out big giggles all the time. If I do remember correctly though they weren't all smiles & giggles!! They were a bit off for a few days. I guess having 9 people cramped in our little townhouse was a bit much for them! We loved having them all here and once again as with all our family, we wish we lived closer. So here are a few pics from that visit...(in no particular order)

This weekend was alot of fun! It was Josh's cousin Andrew's wedding so his mom came up from Florida and his sister Jillian and her boyfriend Anthony came over from Maryland. The wedding was so beautiful and we all had a lot of fun. On Friday night Josh's Aunt Jill had us all over for dinner (which was SO yummy and I'm sure we all ate too much!) so we could visit with all the other out of town guests here for the wedding. It was great to see everyone and the boys were in their glory with ALL the attention. So much so that they refused to eat!

Our wonderful neighbors Cy & Sarah looked after the boys for us. It was the first time we ever left someone to put the boys to bed. We were gone from about 4pm until 10:30pm and we appreciated them looking after the boys for us. They said that the boys were really good and went to bed easily so that was a HUGE relief. So with that being said, Josh and I had a really fun time at the wedding and reception. I think I drank a little too much wine but I figured I had waited over a year for that so I didn't feel too bad about it. :)

The boys Auntie Jillian brought the boys their Christmas gifts since she wouldn't get to see them over the Christmas holidays. They enjoyed opening the presents and LOVE all the gifts! I added some of the pictures of them opening their gifts. Jillian also made me a book (among other things) using iphoto (I think?) of the boys first year . It is so precious to me. I love it! Thank you Jill!

So enjoy the photos. These were just a few of my favorites but there were SO many taken. Congratulations Drew & Mandi. We wish you many happy years together!

Josh and I had bets on who would cry...nice parents huh?? I thought Cohen would but he was calm and cool. Ethan started to cry the minute I put him on Santa's lap. Poor little thing. A good one to show his girlfriends when he's older. :)

Setting up the Christmas tree...

Yesterday we decided it was time to set up the Christmas tree. Everything went well and the boys were (and still are) mesmerized by it. Below are a few pictures.

A few new things that the boys are doing...Cohen is standing by himself for sometimes a whole minute which is so exciting. He even took a step on his own at physical therapy on Friday. We are so proud of him.

Both the boys are also starting to really understand affection. We'll tell one of them to "love your brother" and they will lean their head on the other one and when we say to "give your brother kisses" they will do it too. It's so adorable. They've become very lovey towards us as well and give lot's of kisses. They are interacting with each other more and more everyday. Especially at meal time. They take each others food off each others trays and Ethan likes to stick his fingers in Cohen's mouth and then just cracks up. It's cute but can be frustrating at times as SO much food ends up on the floor. Some by accident but mostly because they just decide that the food needs to go on the floor. Grrrrr!

Another thing that we learned this past week is that Ethan will need a third surgery in 6 months. We are really bummed out about that. Part of the area did not heal correctly so that's the reason for the next surgery. Otherwise he is doing so well and looks completely healed.

So that's all the news we have at the moment. We need to get our butts in gear and get our Christmas shopping done. We have started but have a ways to go. Oh well. Why should this year be any different than any other year??? :)

We had a yummy Thanksgiving dinner with our friends Cy & Sarah and their daughter Isabella. It's was SO good and we all ate way too much! I am a little disappointed because we didn't get many pictures at all of the day but here are a few and a couple more of the boys...

So there isn't really a whole lot going on around here. Just having fun with the boys and trying to keep them happy!! They are going through a phase right now (especially Cohen) where they don't really want to eat anything. I mean they are still eating but only little bits of things. And if you put something in Cohen's mouth for him to eat he will spit it out and pick it up and put it in his own mouth as if to say "I want to feed myself"! Oh well. I know it won't be like that forever...at least I hope not:)

Josh's work is bringing in Santa Claus tomorrow evening so we are going to take the boys there to sit on his lap and get their picture taken. Should be interesting. I wonder if they will be scared or intrigued? I guess we'll find out tomorrow!

Then on Friday it's the big day for Ethan...his surgery. I know I've written and talked about this a lot...I guess I am nervous. I'm sure it will be fine though. I'm kind of glad that he is still young and oblivious to things like this. I am also thankful that he is so resilient and recovers quickly. Keep us all in your thoughts and prayers...especially our little boy :)

So I decided to go ahead and cut Cohen's hair...myself! It actually turned out OK. His hair is growing super fast and I have watched my mom cut hair a thousand times so I figured what the heck?! If it goes bad I can always take him to the stylist to fix it. He was really good too :)

Fall Days

Where has this year gone?? I can't believe it's getting so close to Christmas already. Everyone here is doing fine. Ethan's surgery is on November 16th so please keep him in your thoughts. I have added a few pictures here from a day out with the boys at Highbanks Park here in Columbus as well as some Halloween pictures and just some pictures from today around the house. These boys are getting so big. :)
